Last December I received a gift from my discipler, a special gift that helped me understand myself where I am with my walk with the Lord. The gift was actually a book written by Sharon Jaynes entitled Experience The Ultimate Makeover. I hope that you will get a copy of the book so that you would experience the makeover. Sharon Jaynes was really awesome, I swear. Well, If you don't have a copy you may try checking my review of the book.I'm gonna share things that I learned from each chapter of the book. Come and journey with me.
I love this next part of the book, the title of this chapter is THE GREAT COVER UP. As we all know, women love makeover, who wouldn't me. I mean I never heard someone gets frustrated when she is being pampered in a salon, right? I guess fondness with makeovers are women's nature. The very reason why I love this chap is simply because its a makeover. Well, the chap opened my eyes that I need to have a spiritual makeover (when I wasn't a Christian yet, I never really thought of that). Sharon said that to experience total makeover you need to get the root of the problem. You need to search yourself, you need to assess what's the cause of this and that behavior. After realizing the root, then start to change just like what I said from the start. One favorite learning from this book is that I don't really need cover ups from the world, I just only need Jesus. He is actually the great cover up.
From Great cover up let's plunge into the "a brand new you". When we speak about brand new, we get excited don't we? As for me, I get excited. I usually show it off since it's brand new. Upon reading this part of the book, I realized that I looked down on myself. I was thinking God gave me a new identity but then I was not really paying attention to it. I know what God thinks and perceives me but I sometimes doubt it. Satan tried injecting his lies to and it broke me several times. What I love about this chap is that Sharon took time to list what I am in God's eyes.It renewed my mind that it doesn't matter what the devil tells me but what should matter is how God sees me. I just started writing my identity with God on a sticky note and stick it on my ID to remind me who I am.
